On a uPVC or composite door, the long locking bar inside the door is rarely what fails. The euro cylinder, the small barrel your key slots into, is the part that gives way. It snaps at the screw hole in its middle.
That is why a door can look untouched from the street after a break in. The frame, hinges and hooks all held. The barrel did not.
If a particular model is not on the van, it can be bought during the visit.
A door that will not lock is not always the barrel. The gearbox inside the door, the handle, the metal plates on the frame and the way the door sits are all checked, because changing the wrong part means paying twice.
