A lot of gutter cleaning is done blind. A brush or hose goes in at one end, and the assumption is that the channel is clear because water eventually starts moving. What that approach misses are the secondary blockages deeper in the system, the silt compacted against a downpipe bracket, or the moss mat sitting just past a 90-degree bend that the hose pressure could not shift.
Our technicians attach a high-definition wireless camera to the top of the telescopic cleaning pole. Before any debris is removed, the camera gives a real-time view of the entire gutterline, from the first section near the ridge down to the downpipe outlet. This inspection stage means we know exactly what we are dealing with and where the problem points are before the vacuum head goes to work.
The wet-dry vacuum then draws the material up and out of the system. This is worth noting specifically: unlike water-based flushing, vacuuming removes the physical debris rather than moving it further along. Leaves, moss, seed debris, and silt all go into the collection unit and leave the property with the technician.
For Basingstoke landlords managing multiple properties, the camera footage can be a useful record showing the condition of the drainage at the time of the clean. We are happy to show it on site or provide photos if requested.
