We don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. The cleaning method depends on the carpet material, age, and condition. Your technician will assess the carpet before starting and select the most suitable treatment for the best possible result.
1) Hot water extraction (steam carpet cleaning)
This method is commonly used for synthetic and blended carpets and is designed to lift embedded dirt from deep within the pile.
- Assessment and pre-treatment: The carpet is checked and pre-treated to loosen soil, stains, and high-traffic build-up.
- Hot water injection: Hot water is applied with a cleaning solution to break down dirt within the fibres.
- High-powered extraction: The machine extracts the loosened dirt and most of the moisture in the same pass.
- Drying: Carpets are left damp rather than wet and typically dry within a few hours, depending on ventilation and carpet thickness.
2) Dry cleaning (low-moisture for delicate fibres)
For delicate rugs and natural fibres that don’t respond well to water, a low-moisture method can be used to reduce the risk of shrinkage or texture changes.
- Fabric check: The technician confirms the fibre type and whether dry cleaning is the safest option.
- Powder application: An absorbent cleaning compound is applied across the surface.
- Agitation: Soft brushes work the compound through the fibres to lift soil.
- Vacuum extraction: The compound is removed thoroughly, taking the dirt with it.
- Ready to use: Because moisture is minimal, the carpet is usually ready to walk on straight away.
