The detail

Methods, timings, inclusions and the small print

Everything a careful buyer wants before booking, in one place.

How we clean, and why
Carpets and rugs. Hot water extraction is the standard method: a pH-balanced pre-spray to suspend soil, agitation where appropriate, then hot water injected under pressure and immediately recovered along with the loosened soil. It is the method most carpet manufacturers specify for warranty-safe deep cleaning.

Upholstery. The method is chosen from the manufacturer's fabric code (W, S, WS or X) after a colourfastness test on a hidden area. Low-moisture or dry-compound cleaning is used where water-based cleaning would risk shrinkage, watermarking or bleeding.

Timings and drying
Two carpeted rooms 45–75 minutes on site
Three-seat fabric sofa 40–60 minutes on site
Carpets and upholstery together 90–150 minutes on site
Walkable again (socks, light use) About 1 hour
Carpet fully dry 4–6 hours typical
Upholstery fully dry 4–8 hours typical
With air movers and ventilation Roughly halved

Drying is slower in cold, humid or unventilated rooms, on thick underlay and on dense upholstery foam. Opening windows and running the heating gently is the fastest way to shorten it.
Products, pets and children
Treated areas are safe for pets and children once fully dry. Cleaning solutions are professional-grade, pH-balanced and rinsed out during extraction rather than left in the fibre.
Safety data sheets for every product used can be provided on request.
What is not included
Being clear about limits is how we avoid disappointing anyone:

  • Permanent damage: dye loss, bleach marks, burns, pile crushing from heavy furniture and general wear cannot be reversed by cleaning.
  • Structural repair, re-stretching, re-fitting or re-dyeing.
  • Leather and suede upholstery, and covers coded dry-clean-only, are quoted as separate specialist services.
  • Moving heavy or fragile items. Small furniture is moved where it is safe to do so; pianos, wardrobes, aquariums and electronics stay put.

Your professional will point out anything in this category during the walkthrough, before work starts, so expectations are set in advance rather than explained afterwards.
How pricing works
Carpet cleaning is priced per room, with stairs and landings charged separately because they take disproportionately longer. Upholstery and mattresses are priced per item and by size. Three things move the final figure:

  • Volume: number of rooms, number of items and total area to be treated.
  • Condition: heavily soiled areas, pet contamination and long gaps since the last clean take more time and product.
  • Access and location: parking, congestion or ULEZ charges and stair-only access where applicable.

A minimum charge applies. The full price is confirmed at time of booking and does not change afterwards unless you add work yourself.

Questions before booking

Everything you need to feel confident

What does the full Home Reset include?
The full Home reset is a bunde of services that will get your home ready for the cozier months, without you lifting a finger. It includes all and any carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture and mattresses that need attention and you'd like us to deep clean.
Can I book only carpet and upholstery cleaning?
Yes, and there are even a few benefits. Both are done in one visit by the same professional, which typically takes 90-150 minutes in total and gets you 15% discount on your upholstedy clean when booking the two services together.
How long will it take?
Two carpeted rooms take 45-75 minutes. A three-seat fabric sofa takes 40-60 minutes. A mattress takes 40-60 minutes. Carpets and upholstery together take 90-150 minutes. Stairs add roughly 15-20 minutes because they are slower per square metre than open floor.
Can you help with stains and pet odours?
Yes. Most of what summer leaves will no longer be part of your carpets and sofas: sand and grit, mud, pollen, food and drink spills, and surface pet odour. What cleaning cannot reverse is permanent change to the fibre - dye loss from bleach or strong cleaners, burns, and colour that has already faded. Odour that has soaked into the underlay or a sofa's foam core needs a separate treatment, which your professional will identify and quote on site rather than promise in advance.
How soon can I use the carpet or sofa again?
Walk on carpet in socks after about an hour. Full drying is typically 4-6 hours for carpet and 4-8 for upholstery. Drying time is roughly halved if air movers are used or you open windows and run the heating gently. Cold, humid or unventilated rooms and thick underlay both slow drying down. Best to keep pets and children off treated areas until fully dry.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Tell us within 48 hours and we will return and re-clean the area at no charge. If a second visit does not resolve it, we will explain why - usually because the mark is permanent damage rather than soil - and discuss the options.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before your slot, online or by phone. Inside 24 hours a late-change fee may apply because the slot cannot usually be refilled.
Do I need to be home, and do I need to prepare anything in advance?
Someone over 18 needs to be there at the start to agree the areas, and at the end to check the work. In between you are free to get on with your day. Please clear small items from the floor and lift anything fragile; your professional will move light furniture where it is safe to do so.
